Farmers protesting outside the Karnal district headquarter, called off their protest after the Haryana government ordered a probe into 28 August Clash between farmer and police. During a meeting, the Haryana government and farmers reached an amicable resolution ending the deadlock.
The government also sent IAS officer Ayush Sinha, who was at centre of row among two sides. Haryana Additional Chief Secretary, Devendra Singh informed that probe will be conducted by a retired Judge and will be completed within a month while Ayush Sinha will remain on leave during the time. He added that, job will be provided to the two families members of the deceased farmer who died after suffering injuries during the police lathicharge .
The agitators were also demanding financial compensation for the deceased farmer’s family. Following the announcement, farmer leader, Gurnam Singh Chaduni said they would now call off their sit-in outside the Karnal district headquarters.
