Bankrupt Carrier Jet Airways (India) Ltd is all set to resume domestic operations in the first quarter of 2022.
According to Jalan-kalrock consortium, the Jet airways will begin its operations again , with a flight from Mumbai to New Delhi . The airline will now be headquartered in Delhi-National Capital Region, a shift from the earlier Mumbai base.
Lead member of the Jalan Kalrock Consortium and proposed non-executive chairman of Jet airways Murari lal Jalan ,said that Jet Airways 2.0 aims to restart short haul international operations by Q3/Q4 2022. They plan to increase their fleet of planes to 50 in three years and raise that to 100 in five years.
Unlike Jet Airways 1.0 ,this time the headquarters of the airline will be based in Gurugram , newly appointed captain Sudhir Gaur , acting CEO of the airline and member of Jalan Kalrock Consortium informed. He further added that Jet airways will continue to have strong and significant presence in Mumbai where it will work from “ global one” office in Kurla.
According to Gaur, the carrier will “ start with domestic operations on an all narrow body aircraft fleet leased from major global aircraft lessors who have approached them and continue to engage.
In the statement ,the revival plan is being implemented as approved by the National Company Law Tribunal, and all the creditors will be settled as per the plan in the coming months.
